A very warm welcome to the Junior page of Phoenix Golf Club, We believe here at Phoenix that junior golf can be fun, exciting & extremely rewarding, We run two sections within the Juniors, they are the pre junior section that has a age range from 6 to 10 and a junior section 11 to 18.
We believe we have a very strong junior set up, a great course to build their talents on and facilities to match, the forward thinking of our professionals and supportive older members we can see that in Phoenix we have a great future in the making.

Junior News
The Junior Team did the Phoenix proud at Lindrick and won the Inter Club Team
Championship, they defeated the likes of Rotherham, Worksop & Abbeydale to lift the
Colts cup for the first time in 30 years, the Team of Chris Pearce, James Gulliver,
Jordan Perry & Nathan Muffett played every qualifier and the semi final to take the
Title by 5 Shots, Well Done Lads!!! Come on Belton Woods in the Regionals in
October.
Well done to the Junior Team who came second in their respective semi final of the
InterClub Team Championship on Sat 1st Aug at Bondhay and by doing so are now
in the Final at Lindrick on Aug 16th, the team is Chris Pearce, James Gulliver,
Jordan Perry & Nathan Muffett, the semi final consisted of 6 teams of 4
from across the Sheffield Union, this is an excellent result for the lads
and well deserved, well done Boys!!!
Well done to Jordan Perry who won the 25th schools golf matchplay Championship
at Sitwell, Jordan beat 3 very good golfers on the way to the title. Well Done Jordan!!
12th July:- Congratulations to Stephen Coultas who won the Joe Clegg Cup, Stephen
Shot a nett 68 off 18 Handicap to pip Chris Pearce by 1 shot who himself shot an
impressive gross 72 off 3 handicap nett 69, Stephen was presented with his prize
by Joe Clegg Himself.
Congratulations to Charlie Doughtry who came 1st in the 7-8 year old catagory
of the regional finals of the Wee Wonders, Charlie now heads to St.Andrews
for the final, Well Done Charlie!
Come and support the Juniors who play the last leg of the ICTC at Bondhay on the
19th July 2pm Tee.
10th May:- Well done to James Gulliver who won the Woodcock Cup
5th April 2009 - Congratulations to Nathan Muffett who won the first event of the year
the Junior Captains Drive In, the next Junior Competition is the Woodcock Cup to be played on the 1oth May,

Welcome to the Pre-Junior Section.
We welcome any child of any ability to learn all about the wonderful world of golf. We have weekly training sessions, monthly on course competitions where we learn all aspects of golf. If you are interested in joining and to have fun please call the Junior Organiser or the Phoenix Golf Club Professionals for more information (Tel Numbers above)..

If you are interested in pre-junior coaching we start every Wednesday from 4.30pm.

Pre - Junior News
We are going to arrange a trip to the 9 hole par 3 course at Bondhay over the 6 weeks holidays, here we will have some serious fun, we will have a chat with your parents to find a suitable date. Also during the 6 weeks hols we will have a couple of comps as well as having a comp which will include the older juniors playing along side you guys. |
